Letter from the Chairman

July 14, 2020

Come help us rise to the challenge.

As we just passed the midway point of 2020, each of us face challenges which are unique in our lifetimes. This is true for Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry as well. This time last year, our team was conducting rural clinics, performing surgeries to repair cleft palates and remove tumors, extracting diseased teeth and dispensing eyeglasses. That was our plan for this summer, but COVID changed everything. Travel restrictions and quarantine restrictions have not only precluded our summer mission, but prevented our US team from joining our Vietnamese contractor to complete construction of the Good Samaritan clinic facility. The clinic is a cooperative effort with the Cao Bang Department of Health and was scheduled to open this summer. Although completion has been delayed until November, the building will provide a permanent base of operations for the summer mission, consultation services for local doctors, and a residency training site for the next generation of Family Practice physicians in Vietnam.

You can help us rise to the challenges we now face.

○ First, you can pray for the ministry.

○ Second, why not consider joining us in Vietnam next year? Applications for team 2021 will be available on the GSMDM website in October.

○ Thirdly, please consider donating to the work of the ministry. We still need $37,000 to complete construction of the clinic.

Please come alongside us and help write the next chapter of the Good Samaritans’ story.

Sincerely,

dr. branch
